THE ADDRESS
MIMOSA
Hôtel de la Marine
2 Rue Royale · Paris 8
Jean-François Piège’s Mediterranean table in Paris.
Mimosa sits within the historic Hôtel de la Marine, overlooking its interior courtyard and just moments from the Tuileries.
Inside, the atmosphere is warm and theatrical without becoming overly formal — patterned fabrics, rich colour, natural materials and a certain Riviera spirit that feels deliberately removed from the grand Parisian architecture surrounding it.
AT THE TABLE
The Mediterranean, interpreted from Paris.
The menu looks towards the South: vegetables, seafood, generous dishes and flavours designed for sharing.
This is not somewhere we would choose for a hurried lunch between appointments.
Mimosa works better when the table itself is the plan.
CLÉE CASA NOTE | Come hungry. Order for the table. Leave the afternoon relatively free.
THE SETTING
Part of the appeal is what surrounds it.
Step outside and you are between Place de la Concorde, Rue Saint-Honoré and the Jardin des Tuileries — one of those rare parts of central Paris where an entire afternoon can follow naturally from lunch.
Walk through the Tuileries afterwards.
Continue towards Palais Royal.
Or don’t plan anything at all.
WHY WE KEEP IT
There are restaurants we return to primarily for the food, others for the room, and a few because the entire experience suits a particular moment.
Mimosa is one of the latter.
A late lunch. Friends in Paris for the weekend. Somewhere celebratory without becoming ceremonial.
And, occasionally, simply an excuse to make lunch the main event.
LE CARNET NOTE
The best Paris addresses aren’t always about discovering somewhere new. They’re about knowing where you want to return.
